Henrietta C. Kish

Henrietta C. Kish, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 41, 2021 at her home in Lightfoot, VA. She was born in Nelson County, VA on April 28,1931 to Gilbert Lee and Ruby Crist. Henri spent her younger years raising her family, before going to work at Woolco Department Store. She later became a Merchandise Coordinator for Roses until they closed in 2002. She enjoyed her work and the many friends she made over the years. Henri was a dedicates mother and grandmother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She loved reading, telling stories of growing up in the mountains, puzzle books and spending time with her family. She also loved being on the go, eating out, family vacations, day trips and listening and attending concerts of her cousin, Jimmy Fortune.

Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Emil J. Kish, Sr.; father Gilbert Lee Crist, Sr.; mother Ruby Stevens; step-father Robert Stevens and brother Gilbert Lee Crist, Jr. She is survived by her five children; Cassandra K. Flanary, Karen S. Armandt, Emil J. (Melinda) Kish, Jr., Pamela K. Moore and Mary M. Kish; ten grandchildren, Kimberly (Michael) Padgett, Brian (Shanna) Flanary, Clinton Kish, Kristen (Kevin) Eason, Megan (Jason) Thomas, Brett Varboncoeur, Courtney Rourke, Ryan Varboncoeur, Cameron (Kasey) Moore, Emily Varboncoeur; eleven great grandchildren, Graham, Bryce, Tristen, Liam, Grace, Whitney, Colin, Tyson, Ian, Lilly, and Emma; siblings, Joanne (Joe) Kocur, Georgia (John) Sandoval, Vickie (Mark) Meranda, Robert (Laura) Stevens, Jr.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Henri will be dearly missed by many. The family would like to thank Dr. Shahwali S. Arezo and L. Jason Bain, Nurse Practitioner. A visitation will be held at Bucktrout Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with a service to follow at 1:00pm. Burial will take place in Williamsburg Memorial Park following the service. In Lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions made to the American Cancer Society.
