Gladys Muriel Jasper Baggerly
Gladys Muriel Jasper Baggerly, 89, of Springfield, died at 10:40 am, Wednesday, September 28, 2022 peacefully at her home. She was born June 2, 1933 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to William Thomas and Charity Ethel Daisy Harland Jasper. She married Robert F. Baggerly on June 18, 1955 and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1981.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen (Diane) Baggerly of Springfield and Greg Baggerly of San Antonio, TX; five grandchildren, Robert, Nicole, David and Christopher Baggerly and Cayla (Jarid) Crain and two great grandchildren, Braxton and Hensley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her oldest son, Michael Robert Baggerly, four brothers, Bill, George, Ken and Fred; six sisters, Joan, Lilian, Mae, Daisy, Isabel, Edna and Evelyn and her loving companion, Charles Davis.
Gladys worked as an executive secretary and retired after seventeen years from Sangamon State University in the Business and Economics Department.
She was an avid water aerobics participant at the YMCA and enjoyed gardening and watching tennis on television.
Memorial Gathering: 10am – 12pm, Monday, October 3, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Graveside Service: 1 pm, Monday, October 3, 2022 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
