Esperanza  Sanchez

Esperanza Sanchez, 66, beloved and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Sunday afternoon, January 15, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, January 19, 2023, at the Wiley Funeral Home, Glen Rose Chapel, at 504 Holden Street in Glen Rose.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M., on Friday, January 20, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Glen Rose.  Burial will follow at Squaw Creek Cemetery.

Esperanza was born on May 4, 1956, in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico.  On February 24, 1974 she married Miguel Sanchez and together had four children, Bengie, Jose, Susie, and Juan.  She worked for the Glen Rose ISD in the cafeteria for 17 years.  Esperanza was a person of deep faith and a big heart.  She had a passion for gardening.  She will forever be remembered for her smile and her sense of humor.  Most of all, Esperanza cherished time spent with her family – and particularly doing things with her grandchildren.

Esperanza is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 49 years, Miguel; her children, Bengie and wife Christina Sanchez, Jose and wife Amanda Sanchez, Susie and husband Scott Evert, and Juan Sanchez; her grandchildren, Xavier, Kimberly, Catalina, Kristen, Weston, Julia, Cole, Mason, Chloe, and Maddox; her sisters, Lidia, Elvira, Olivia, Dolores, and Eva; and by her brothers, Vidal, Merse, Ignacio, Miguel, Mateo, and Ruben.

In addition to her parents, Esperanza was preceded in death by her brother, Martin and by her nephew, Christian Ibarra.
