Judy Smith

Judy (Jude) Anne Smith, 80, of Eastpoint, Florida passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 20, 2025. Born in Jamestown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Hazel and Hugh Smith. She graduated from Jamestown High School and made wonderful memories and lifelong friends while working at Pace’s Pizzeria and Josef’s Jewelry Store in Jamestown, NY, and Sanders Manufacturing in Nashville, TN.

Jude was the heart of the family and had a knack for remembering all important dates and goings on in the family. She loved her family, friends, music, happy hour, nature, reading, the beach, volunteering at the St. George Island State Park and St. Vincent Wildlife Refuge, and working at the Orman House and Gorrie Museum in Apalachicola. She’ll be remembered fondly for her quick laughter, love of words, amazing pizza, spaghetti sauce and dessert making skills, and the clever ways she made life fun.

She is survived by her beloved partner of 27 years, Elbert “Butch” Coates of Eastpoint whom she met in Nashville, TN. They enjoyed many fun years in Nashville before they achieved their retirement goal of moving to Eastpoint, FL in 2012. She is also survived by her brother William (Laurel) Smith; her sons Tom Giambra, Jr of New Mexico and Tim (Beth) Giambra of North Carolina; daughter Trisha Giambra of Idaho; her grandchildren Jessie (Marco), Kyle, and Michael all of Arizona; as well as dear friends near and far. She was thrilled to meet her new great grandson, Huitzilin, last year.

A small celebration of life will be held at 11:00am at the eastern pavilion at the Sugar Hill Beach Area in St. George State Park on October 18th, 2025.
