Judith Russell

Judy Russell was born in Springfield, MO on August 25, 1946 to Agnes Welch Lyle and Oliver Lyle, and passed away peacefully in Nampa, ID on June 25, 2025. Her legacy began with her four daughters: Christine Lynette Russell Foster, Julie Ann Russell Meier, Kimberley Jo Russell King, and Rebecca Lee Russell Fobes. She was a loving grandmother to fourteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, her brother Curt Lyle, and her sisters Leota Lyle Foy and Dorothy Lyle Bassett. She is survived by her brothers Doug Lyle and Arnie Lyle, and her sisters Lorraine Lyle Gibson and Barbie Lyle Winter.

Judy’s light was far too bright to be encapsulated in a short few words. She is described as being sunshine and pure joy, her smile lit up every room. She was the heart of her family and oriented her entire world towards those that she loved. Judy’s home was consistently filled with piano music, duets, and laughter. Outside of the home, she made quick friends with strangers that she encountered during her many years of late-night adventures.

Judy was a fiercely resilient woman who made a point to show up for others during hard times regardless of her own struggles. She had the power to turn a terrible day into the best day ever.

She curated a culture of welcoming hospitality and was able to make every house into a home. Among Judy’s favorite memories were meeting the many new babies that blessed her family throughout the years.

Judy’s most memorable philosophies for life were to be silly, to always laugh, to be real, and to always say what you are thinking. She knew how to soak up every moment with loved ones.

Her memories, laughter, and convictions are woven into the many generations following her.
