Hannah Keegan

Hannah Keegan passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family.

Born on November 24, 1952, in Dooncaha, Tarbert, County Kerry, Ireland, Hannah was the cherished daughter of Stephen and Margaret (“Peggy”) Denihan. She was the beloved sister of Mary (Danny), Elizabeth (Jim), Helen, Margaret (Mike), Stephen (Josephine), and Anthony, and was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, John and Michael.

Hannah’s life was defined by strength, grace, and devotion. She faced her illness with extraordinary courage and perseverance, inspiring all who knew her. Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Frank Keegan of County Longford, Ireland, her greatest love. Together they built a beautiful life in New York filled with love, laughter, and faith. Hannah was the proud mother of three daughters—Caroline (Peter), Annie (Charlie), and Francine (Jared)—who will forever carry her spirit forward. Her greatest joy came from her five grandchildren, Ava, Ella, Charlotte, Paige, and Jake, who filled her days with endless love and laughter, and who will carry forward her warmth and love for generations to come.

Hannah also shared a special bond with Sophie, whom she lovingly cared for as a nanny for many years. Sophie, along with her parents, Mark and Maureen, became family. Over the years, they shared a deep and lasting connection, and Mark and Maureen—both doctors—walked alongside Hannah through her illness, offering tireless care, compassion, and hope through many years of treatment. Their generosity and friendship were a constant source of comfort to Hannah and her family, and their love will never be forgotten.

In her final weeks, Hannah was blessed to have the most wonderful care from her loving sister Margaret. Her family will be forever grateful for Margaret’s unbelievable commitment, devotion, and love in caring for Hannah during that time.

She will also be deeply loved and remembered by her many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews, whose lives she enriched with her warmth and kindness.

Hannah will be remembered for her boundless love, unwavering faith, and her remarkable ability to make everyone she met feel seen, valued, and cared for. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, and her family is forever strengthened by her example of resilience, kindness, and devotion. We will miss her forever.
