Wiley Rinney “Mack” Junior Sims, age 89, of Festus, Missouri passed away Friday, September 5, 2025, at his home. He was born May 4, 1936, in Festus, the son of the late Virginia (nee Mahue) and Wiley A. Simms.
He is survived by his wife Florence Marie (nee Dunham) Sims; son Wiley David (Carrie) Sims, Sr. of St. James, Missouri; daughter Joyce Marie (Jim) Jackson of Festus; siblings Tom (Janet) Simms of California, Debbie (Ted) Freund of Festus, Barbara (Stan) Schepker of St. Louis, Missouri, Janet (the late Alan) Turner of Festus, and Mary Simms of California; grandchildren Robert, Cory, Jessica, Felicia, Stephen, Wesley, Hailey, and Eric; 7 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Betty (the late Frank) Pruneau and a grandson Wiley David Sims, Jr.
He was a Retired Deputy Chief of the R7 Fire Department, former president of Ozark React, former president of R7 Neighborhood Watch and the R7 Water District. He was also a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Festus.
Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. Officiated by Mr. Jim Waynick of Festus. Interment to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City, Missouri. Memorials in Wiley’s name are preferred to the Ozark Food Pantry, 1 Sunset Pk Box 841, Festus, MO 63028.
