Eileen Dvorak
- June 15, 2025

Eileen D. Dvorak, 81, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, surrounded by her family at RWJ University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Newark and formerly of Garwood and South Plainfield, she had been a resident of Piscataway since 1998.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit Wednesday, 6/18, from 3-7 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Ave. West, Cranford, N.J., 07016. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, 6/21, 10 am at St. Anne’s Church in Garwood. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
Eileen was raised in Garwood and was a parishioner at St. Anne’s Church. After graduating Arthur L. Johnson Regional High School in Clark, she attended St. Michael’s Nursing School in Newark, beginning a lifelong career in nursing. Eileen earned her Bachelors of Health Sciences degree and taught the very first class of Certified Nursing Assistants in the state of New Jersey. Eileen worked for 40 years as a labor and delivery nurse at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield, where she was affectionately referred to as “Twinkletoes” for her love of dancing. She remained in close contact with her coworkers, (or her “O.G.’s”), lunching together frequently. She was very active with FISH, an all-volunteer service organization which responds with compassion to the needs of those less fortunate. She would often answer the hotline to help the organization. Above all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her three beloved sons, Matt and his wife Kat, Jack and his wife Christy, and Dan and his wife Bethany; her loving grandchildren, Catie, Alex, Christian, Thomas, Sarah, Diana, Hazel, and Viva; her sister, MariJane; her niece Andi and her nephew, EJ. She was predeceased by her nephew, John.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to FISH. Donations can be made online at: https://www.fishdunellenarea.org/donate/
