Arthur Wilson
Arthur Eugene Wilson, 68 of Springfield passed away at 11:24 am, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born January 26, 1957, in Jacksonville, the son of Leland Eugene Wilson and Alice Mildred Warner.
He is survived by four children, Amber Wilson, Adair Wilson, Joshua Wilson and Arzellus Wilson; nine grandchildren, Malik Wilson, Trevion Dulin, Jaqurreon Wilson, Kamoriae Wilson, Bailey Wilson, Sid Wilson, Kaden Wilson, Emma Wilson- Thompson, Athena Wilson; one great grandson, Jordan White, Jr.; three sisters, Shirley Wilson, Glenna Sheppard and Vivian Killion; two brothers, Bruce Wilson and Barry Wilson and several nieces and nephews.
Arthur was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He was currently employed by the State of Illinois where he was a security guard at the State Capitol and retired from the Department of Corrections. He was a member of the NAACP in Jacksonville, IL and was very involved with founding Jacksonville, IL area museums.
Visitation: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Reverend Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
