Arthur Voss

Art was born in Lake Forest, Illinois in 1942. He went to high school at Lake Forest Academy. He attended college at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI. and graduated with a BA in German. A superb tennis player, Art played in the first court on the Lawrence team for four years. He also played banjo and sang in a campus folk group called the Sigma Five. He attended the University of Denver College of Law and graduated cum laude with a J.D. in 1967. He served as a Note Editor on the Denver Law Journal.

His first position as an attorney was with the U.S. Department of Justice in the Honor’s Graduate program in Washington, D.C. He returned to Denver and worked for the law firm of Akolt, Shepherd, Dick, and Rovira for several years. He subsequently went to work as an attorney for Frontier Airlines and retired from the company as Vice President and General Counsel in 2002. He sat as an arbitrator in labor disputes until shortly before his passing.

Art is predeceased by his father, Arthur Voss, Sr., his mother, Isabel Voss, and his sister Margaret. He is survived by his daughter Lisa (Randy Blank), his sister Kathy Frank (Paul Beasley), and granddaughters, Kayla and Madison.

A celebration of Art’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on June 12 at Fairmount Cemetery in Denver.
