Dub was born to Hylira and Pernie (White) Baldree at home in Lipan Texas on 9/20/1928. Dub graduated from Lipan High School in 1945. He joined Charity Lodge #565 on 01/27/1950, where he served as a Mason for 72 ½ years. He was awarded the golden trowel award on 10/29/1990. Dub was the Past Worshipful Master and Past D.D.G.M. in 1969. He was coronated as a 33 degree mason of the Scottish Rite on 12/9/1995 where he was a charter member of the Fort Worth Scottish Rite. He was a member of the Moslah Shrine, York Rite, Lipan Chapter O.E.S. serving as Past Worthy Patron several times.

 

Dub was preceded in death by Wyona Lucille Huffstuttler on 2/10/2015. They were married on May 8, 1954. She was the love of his life. They were married just 4 days after he returned from the Korean War.

 

Dub joined the United States Navy July 25th, 1950 through 1954. He served his country proudly which made him the patriot that he was. He was stationed in Kodiac Alaska and was assigned to a troop transport in the Korean War.

 

Returning from war, Dub attended the Fort Worth Barber college in 1965. He purchased the Granbury City Barber Shop on the Square, where he was sole owner upon retiring in 1985. During this time Dub and Wyona pulled a travel trailer all over this great county seeing the sites.

 

One fun filled fact that most do not know about Dub was his love for Drag racing  in the early 60’s through 1970.

 

Dub was baptized in the Kickapoo creek at the age of 7, and was a member of the Lipan First Baptist Church for all of his 93 years, where he proudly served as a Deacon for over 50 years. Dub and Wyona served as the church visitation committee for over 15 years sharing their love of God.

 

Dub is survived by his only child Walter Henry Baldree, and wife Wanda Halman Baldree, 4 grandchildren. Walter Hank Baldree Jr., Miranda Baldree Clinton, Christopher Ryan Baldree, Hannah Alyssa Baldree. One great grandson Emerson Clinton. There are 9 surviving nieces and nephews.

 

Service: 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 6, 2022, Lipan High School Gymnasium with visitation prior to the service from 1:30 PM until service time.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Lipan under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home.
