Vincent Edward “Buddy” Zara
Vincent Edward “Buddy” Zara age 83, passed away November 23, 2022 at Lincoln Village Healthcare Center, Lincoln, Illinois. He was born March 8, 1939 in Springfield, Illinois. He is survived by his wife Patricia Zara, Urbana, Illinois; daughter Diane Marie Zara, Springfield and son Vincent Edward Zara, II, Urbana; grandson Ryan Santarelli and Heather parents of great granddaughter Fallon Mae and grandson Colten Lyons and Desiree parents of great granddaughter Abigail.
A longtime resident of Riverton, he attended Riverton Schools until graduation. He attended Springfield College and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Southwest University. He served on the Village Board of Riverton.
He worked at Illinois National Bank, Executive Director at Riverton Bank, Executive Director at People National Bank in Springfield. He was a Bank Examiner for the State of Illinois and Internal Auditor for Professional Regulation at State of Illinois. He was Co-owner with his wife of American Classic Log Homes in Kentucky.
He will be missed by his many friends and family members who he enjoyed his interest in fishing, hunting, golf, baseball games, Texas Hold’em poker, Cruising, and dogs.
Visitation: 10:30 am – 12:00 pm, Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12:00 pm, Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Cindy Lash officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
