Troy Dee Blackburn

Troy Dee Blackburn, 56, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021 in Fort Worth surrounded by his closest friends and family.

 

He was born November 18, 1964 in Roswell, New Mexico to Patrick Dee and Marcia Dee McNeill Blackburn.

 

Troy spent his early adult life volunteering as a softball coach and as Commissioner for District 11 Girls’ Softball, impacting the lives of many people and players he met over the years. Troy was a big supporter of local charity groups, especially the West Texas Rehabilitation Center and the Hendricks Home for Children. He loved to participate and shoot in charity sporting clay events, which was something he enjoyed doing with his children. He loved his grandchildren dearly and was always at any event they had going on. He was a wonderful and dedicated father, grandfather and brother.

 

Troy was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Marcia Blackburn and by his best buddy and dog Cinch.

 

He is survived by his children, Karissa Blackburn of Fort Worth, Justin Blackburn and girlfriend Brittany Glaze and daughter Presli of San Saba, Kascha Hamer and husband Ryan and son Kayde Lanier and future daughter Taetum Hamer of Weatherford; sister, Aly Kelly and husband Mike and their daughters Mika Grant and husband Cameron, and Kiffany Kelly; as well as a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends.

 

Graveside services will be held 11:30 AM (CST) on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at T U Cemetery on the McNeill Family Ranch in Gaines County, Texas south of Hobbs, New Mexico under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury, Texas

 

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in memory of Troy to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center.
