Terry J. Harbach, 78, of Delhi, Iowa, passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, of a sudden illness at UnityPoint Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. A visitation for Terry will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Delaware, Iowa, with the Rev. Matthew Vesey officiating. The burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Delhi. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Manchester is in charge of arrangements.

Terry was born on Sept. 13, 1944, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Herman and Wilma (Grapes) Harbach. He graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School and from UNI. Terry married Carol Starry on Dec. 29, 1962, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Delaware; four children were born to this union. He finished his career at ATI in Delhi, retiring in 2012. He enjoyed working on cars and engines, especially Ford products, and was known for fixing just about anything. But most of all, Terry loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all those who know and love him.

Terry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol Harbach of Delhi; children, Tim ( Brenda) Harbach of Atkins, Iowa, Tracy (Mark) Freeze of Palo, Iowa, Carrie (Jeff ) Wieland of Riverside, Iowa, and Cory (Sonja) Harbach of Manchester; niece, Joni Thompson; nine grandchildren, Kratisha Harbach, Derek (Sarah Voelker) Harbach, Declan (Alyssa) Harbach, Bailey (Trent) Caldwell, Madeline Freeze, Paige (John Conner) Wieland, Spencer Wieland, Zakary Harbach and Alexa Harbach; three great-grandchildren, Alivia, Nolan and Jack; and siblings, Janice (Dr. David) Whittemore, Connie (Jim) Clifton and Sandra (Tom) Strohm; in-laws, Frank (Christina) Starry; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Wilma Harbach; siblings, infant sister; brothers, Harlan and Wilbur Harbach; and sisters, Karen Wente and Lela Sands.
