Terrence Lynn Thurman

Terrence Lynn Thurman passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023, in Lithia Springs, GA. He was born in Akron Ohio, May 2, 1953, to Charlotte and Tillman Thurman. He attended and graduated from Hoban High School and Kent State University.

Affectionally known as “Jap”, he met the love of his life, Rita Maxine Hardin, in the summer prior to his senior year of high school. After graduation, Maxine moved to Akron Ohio, and they began their life together. A music lover and avid sports fan, he enjoyed reading, traveling, Motown, jazz, concerts, the NFL, NBA, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He frequently enjoyed conversations with his daughter about current events and politics. He often told her to “Spike Lee” which meant Do the Right Thing.

Terry was proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother, Gregory Allen Thurman.

He was a loving devoted husband, father and grandfather who leaves to cherish his memory, wife Maxine; daughter, GiVonni Charmaine; grandchildren, Seth Alexander and Isabell Anais; sisters, Charmaine and Latonya Anderson; brother, Rodney (Andrea); and many family members and friends.
