Shirley E. Pabarcus Yocom

Shirley E. Pabarcus Yocom, 96, of Ferguson, MO, formerly of Springfield, IL died at 6:35 am, Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Oak Knoll Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on July 13, 1925 in Walshville, IL to Homer Shirley and Emma Ruth (Curry) Smith. She married Stanley Pabarcus on October 7, 1942 and he preceded her in death on February 4, 1969. She married Charles Donald Yocom in 1984 and he preceded her in death in 2004.

She is survived by a son, Stanley Michael (Deborah Lynn) Pabarcus of Ferguson, MO; step-daughter, Yvonne Kastien of Springfield, IL; step son-in-law, Dale Biesenthal of New Berlin, IL; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth Mary and Shirley K. Pabarcus; step daughter, Connie Biesenthal and a step son-in-law, William Kastien.

She was a member of Elm Street Christian Church where she played the piano for 35 years. She was also a member of Home Extension. Shirley retired as a secretary from Southside Christian Church after 14 years of service.

Visitation: 9 – 10:15 am, Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Elm Street Christian Church, with graveside service immediately following.

Memorial Service: 11:15 am, Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Elm Street Christian Church with John Spann officiating.
