Robert A. James

Robert A. James, age 88, of Sandwich, IL formerly of Big Rock, IL passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. He was born on January 19, 1934 in Big Rock, IL the son of Everett and Caroline (Rueland) James.

Robert was united in marriage on July 23, 1960 to the former Jacqueline Smith and spent the 42 years happily together until her passing on November 26, 2002. Mr. James served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army. He was longtime member of Teamsters Local 673. Bob was for over 50 years a member of the Shabbona Masonic Lodge #374 A.M. & F.M. He was also a member of the Aurora Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Bob was a people person with many longtime friends and was always ready to make new ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Caroline James; his wife, Jacqueline James; his daughter, Rita James on August 1, 2014; and his brother, William James.

A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, June 17, 2022 at the Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory, 1275 S. Countyline Rd., Sandwich, IL. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit from 5:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Friday, June 17, 2022 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL.
