Sharon Kay Mitchell, 66 died peacefully in Granbury, TX on November 18, 2022. Sharon was born on July 26, 1956 to James B. Exum and Mary V. Exum in Pecos, Tx.

 

Sharon attended Pecos High School and graduated in 1974 and also was a member of The First Baptist Church in Pecos, Texas, where she loved to Praise the Lord. Sharon was a woman of many talents. She loved to cook and entertain, everyone always enjoyed her meals and all the special details that she incorporated into all of her gatherings. She loved to give and make others happy, Sharon was known for having a big heart and always finding a way to help others when they needed it the most.

 

She loved spending time with her family, friends, and her pets which were considered her children. Sharon had a passion for animals and a special way with them, they loved her just as much as she loved them.  She enjoyed loving, laughing, and celebrating with her many special friends and always loved watching her Texas Tech Red Raiders play football.

 

She was a loving mother to her only child Salem, which she constantly supported Salem in everything she did. She was the best  Mom any girl could ask for and went above and beyond to make sure Salem had such a happy childhood.  Sharon was not scared to pull horses all over the State of Texas for a rodeo, or drive Salem anywhere she wanted to play in a golf tournament. She was always encouraging, even if it was a bad day for Salem. She would smile, say it is all okay,I know you will do better tomorrow. Her positivity and encouragement was a huge gift to her daughter.

 

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents James and Vivian Exum of Ruidoso, New Mexico, her Father and Mother in law Charles and Rose Mitchell of Pecos, Texas, brother Weldon Exum of Pecos, Texas, and sister Gail Jones of Jasper, Texas. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Salem and Kevin Leary of Midland, Texas, her son Clifford the Sheepadoodle, and cat Norman Bates, her husband of 33 years Greg Mitchell of Pecos, Texas, brother and sister in law Nelson and Candy Exum of Placerville, California, brother and sister in law Bob and Cheryl Exum of Abilene, Texas, brother and sister in law Rickey and Jodie Exum of Mineral Wells, Texas. Her niece Deann Bridwell of Houston, Texas, nephew Marc Woolems of Jasper, Texas, Nephew JJ Exum of Gholson, Texas, niece Lindsey Davis of Stephenville, Texas, niece Carmon St. Clair of Kingwood, Texas and Cousin Tomi Gray Laigle of La Grange, Texas. Along with many great nieces and nephews.

 

Sharon’s  “Celebration of Life ” will take place on January 8th, 2023 at Harbor Lakes Golf Club in Granbury, Texas from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00p.m. Beginning at 3:30 p.m. we will have a prayer and be given the opportunity to share your favorite story or happy memory of her. Sharon would want everyone to enjoy a good time, smile, laugh, and not  spill tears over her because,she is now with her Lord and Savior.
