Ruth Shearer

Ruth Ward “Rudi” Shearer, 78, died Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the Robin Johnson
House in Dallas, NC.
She was born November 27, 1942, in Alamance County, NC the daughter of the late Gus
and Lena Welch Ward. She was also preceded in death by her brother Marion A. “Jack”
Ward, and her companion of several years, Frank Mintiens.
Ms. Shearer was a lover of animals and enjoyed pet sitting for her clients of
Hendersonville. She loved to square dance and bowl where she was a member of the
Wednesday afternoon Senior Bowl League at Tarheel Lanes.
She is survived by her three sons, Donald Larson of Virginia Beach, VA, David Larson
and wife, Connie of Winston-Salem, NC, and Danny Larson and wife, Crystal of
Gastonia, NC; one daughter, Denise Burns of Gardner, NC; and eleven grandchildren.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date in the spring.
