Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Steppe

Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Steppe, 69, of Hendersonville, NC passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022.

Ronnie was born in Henderson County on Thursday, August 21, 1952 to the late Arvest Revis and Mary Jane Coston.  When Ronnie’s father passed away in 1956, his mother would go on to remarry Vernon Steppe. Vernon saw Ronnie as a son and raised him and his sister as his own. Ronnie is also preceded in death by his father, Vernon Steppe, his daughter, Kelly Steppe McClure, and his favorite furry companion, Foxxi.

Ronnie graduated from Edneyville High School in 1970.  Ronnie was a truck driver for several companies, including Carolina Tool and CL Henderson Produce. To those around him, Ronnie’s big heart never failed to prove if he had it, and you needed it, it was yours.

Ronnie is survived by his daughter, Julie Steppe Braddy (Tim) of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Jonathan Goepfert, Hope McClure, Maryn Braddy, and Morgan Braddy, all of Hendersonville; sister, Diane Tucker (Lee) of Hendersonville; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Verna Orr, and Tommy and Nancy Rose.

A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 2PM with Rev. Tony Halford officiating.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Universal Healthcare and the staff of Mission Hospital ICU.
