Kenneth A. “Kenny” Brown

Kenneth A. “Kenny” Brown, 88, of Johnstown Road, Mineral City, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, following a period of declining health.

Born in Fairfield Township, he was the son of the late William Donald and Daisy Viola (Kiser) Brown and was a longtime area farmer. A United States Army veteran having served from 1954-1957, he also served as an Insurance Agent with Pike Mutual Insurance for 50 years and had also served as President of the Board during some of that time as well. A trustee for Fairfield Township for over 44 years he also served on the board of directors for Carroll Electric Co-Op for 36 years and also driven a school bus for the Tuscarawas Valley School System in the 60’s and 70’s.

He was a longtime member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church at New Philadelphia and a 62-year member and past master of the Fairfield Grange.

Ken is survived by his son, William Todd (Jennifer) Brown; his daughter, Beth Ann (Richard) Lowe; his two grandsons, Matthew (Maddy Kiko) Lowe and Benjamin ( McKenna Rose) Lowe, all of Mineral City; his uncle Omer T. (Peg) Kiser, his sister-in-law, Wanda Schlafly and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, his wife, LeEtta May Brown and a sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Bob Speicher, also preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 6 to 8 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home chapel with Elder Glenn Carlisle officiating. Burial will follow in New Cumberland Cemetery at New Cumberland where the New Philadelphia VFW will conduct military honors.

The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
