Peter Jon Jensen

Peter Jon Jensen

After a year-long battle with cancer, Peter Jon Jensen, 69, of Bristol, passed away peacefully at home on October 28th, surrounded by his loving wife of 45+ years, Nancianne.

Peter was a lifelong resident of northern Illinois.  He graduated from East Aurora High School in 1970 and from Northern Illinois University in 1974.  He spent the majority of his career working as Vice President and General Manager of a small manufacturing company in St. Charles (Acme Eyelet and Stamping Co.).

He was a big fan of all the major Chicago sports teams.  But his real passion was watching the Cubs win and the Sox lose.  He was a regular at Wrigley Field and attended some of the truly most historic Cubs games in history, such as the 1969 Ken Holzman no-hitter game, the 8/8/88 first night game, and the infamous 2003 Bartman game.

He loved golf and was the owner of the Illinois ‘BAD GLFR’ customized license plate.  Possibly his greatest accomplishment was hitting a hole-in-one on Blackberry Oaks GC’s most difficult par 3, hole #15, with his prized 7-wood.  Only of course, to get up on the next tee box and hit the hole-in-one ball directly into the Blackberry creek with his very next shot.

Peter was born on Dec. 3, 1951, in Aurora, IL, the son of Arthur and Matilda (Littman) Jensen.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Pete is survived by his wife, Nancianne Jensen of Bristol, IL; his sons, Matthew Jon (Christine) Jensen of Batavia, IL, and James Peter (Erika) Jensen of Montgomery, IL; his three grandchildren, Scott Jensen, Michelle Jensen and Caleb Jensen; his brother, Bud (Judy) Jensen of Brewster, MA; his sister, Pamela (Denny) Beallis of Aurora, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Ralph Jensen; his mother Matilda Jane (Jensen) Popdan; and his sister, Penelope Diane (Jensen) Vonderheydt.

Friends and family may visit from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m.  Interment will be private.
