Paul S. Kumiega

Paul S. Kumiega, age 73 of Bristol, IL passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 20, 1947 in Chicago, IL the son of Ignatius and Mary (Zasadna) Kumiega.

Paul was united in marriage on March 27, 1971 to Nancy Zawadzki and they spent the next 50 years happily together. Paul was proud to have served Woodridge for 31 years as a Police Officer with the Woodridge Police Department. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Paul is survived by his wife, Nancy Kumiega of Bristol, IL; his children, Christopher (Dee) Kumiega of Seneca, IL and Amy (Shane) Kumiega of Maple Park, IL; his three grandchildren, Daniel Kumiega, Jacob Booten and Emily Kumiega; his siblings, Peter (Rose) Kumiega of Mount Prospect, IL, Maryann Yasak of Mundelein, IL, and Barbara Balitewicz of FL; his sisters-in-law, Carol Kumiega and Sharon Kumiega both of IL; also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ignatius and Mary Kumiega; his siblings and their spouses, Stanley (Helen) Kumiega, Ignatius “Ike” (Helen) Kumiega, Ann (Leon) Wojcik, Emil Kumiega and Frank Kumiega; also his brother-in-law, John Yasak.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL. Interment will be private.

Friends and family may visit from 1:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
