Pastor Roger Wayne Walton

Pastor Roger Wayne Walton, age 64, of Zirconia NC went home to be with his Heavenly Father after a
courageous battle with cancer. Pastor Walton dedicated his life to ministry and serving the Lord. He was
a schoolteacher, a Pastor, a father, a mentor and a friend. Over the last 20 years, he pastored 3
churches and will forever be remembered as Preacher. Pastor Walton discovered his love for radio and
spent the last 29 years serving with WGCR and Anchor Ministry. He will be greatly missed by his radio
family.
Pastor Walton is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Melodie; 2 Sons, Jared and Rosemary
Walton of Lacey, Washington St., Joshua Walton of Tryon, NC and his adopted Son, Luke Walton of
Florida; his parents, Bob and Mary Walton; sister Cheryl of Vero Beach, Florida and numerous nieces
and nephews. Preacher Walton was a loving grandfather and is survived by 4 granddaughters and 4
grandsons.
There will be a celebration of Life at 2pm on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Anchor Baptist Church 3232 Hendersonville Hwy, Pisgah Forest NC 28768. This service will be live streamed on the Anchor Baptist Church Facebook page and the ABN app. A private graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville will be held in the coming days.
