NORMA JEAN JAGNEAUX
March 2, 1941 – April 9, 2021
VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Bayou Chicot on Monday, April 12, 2021, for Norma Jean Jagneaux, 80, who passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021, at her residence in Ville Platte.
Brother Wayne Holston conducted the funeral services.
Burial took place in the Platin Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte.
At the request of the family, visitation took place on Sunday, April 11, 2021, beginning at 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation resumed on Monday, April 12, 2021, from 8 a.m. until time of services.
Norma Jean Jagneaux was born on March 2, 1941, to John and Lour Vasseur Jagneaux in Mamou. Norma enjoyed spending her time in her yard tending to her flowers. Roses were her favorite flowers to grow. She also enjoyed having “afternoon coffee” with her family and friends. Norma’s greatest joy was that of taking care of her family and providing a loving home for them. She was a kindhearted and loving lady who will be greatly missed by many.
Norma is survived by her two daughters, Jeanise Elkins and husband, Jeff, and Linda Lafleur and husband, Josh, all of Ville Platte; one son, Kenneth Catoire and wife, Bridget, of Ville Platte; six grandchildren, Jacob, Jared, Chris, Kerry, Matthew, and Tyler; and two step-grandchildren, Danny and Danielle. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her 16 great-grandchildren, Lillian, Sophia, Marrisa, Maddox, Talan, Evan, Aiden, Raelyn, Kaylie, John Mason, Adalyn, Dayson, Jaiah, Jaden, Janie, and Ashton; and brother, Buren Jagneaux.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lour Vasseur Jagneaux; husbands, Joseph “J C” Catoire and Daniel Fontenot; brother, Rodney Jagneaux; and sisters, Geraldine Lafleur and Leanna Fontenot.

November 14, 1959 – April 9, 2021
VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services were held at a 12 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady, Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Monday, April 12, 2021, for John T. Bergeron, 61, who passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte.
Father Mitch Guidry was celebrant of the Mass and conducted the funeral services.
Internment was in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte.
At the request of the family, visitation was held on Monday, April 12, 2021, beginning at 9 a.m. until time of services. A Rosary was prayed at 11 a.m. on Monday.
John Bergeron was born on November 14, 1959, to Arceau Bergeron and Velma Mae Bertrand Bergeron in Ville Platte. John worked for 41 years for Union Pacific Railroad as a machine operator. John enjoyed wood carving especially those with wildlife. He leaves behind many carved heirlooms for his family to treasure for generations to come. John was a great provider for his family; he worked hard to ensure their success and provided everything they needed. He loved his family and always held a special place in his heart for his beloved grandchildren. John loved the outdoors and loved hunting, fishing, and spending time on his property in Duralde, which he called “his little paradise.”
John leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of 35 years, Annie Granger Bergeron, of Vidrine; daughter, Hollie B. Fontenot and wife, Monica Kate Fontenot, of Ville Platte; son, Thaddius Brock Bergeron of Vidrine; four grandchildren, Thad David, Parker Shane, Avery Elise, and Isa’Bella Rose; three brothers, Larry Bergeron, Regis Bergeron and wife, Diane, and Joel Bergeron and wife, Annette Bergeron.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Arceau Bergeron and Velma Mae Bergeron; brothers, Robert Bergeron Sr. and Anthony Bergeron; sister, Janice Fairchild; and sister-in-law, Diana Bergeron.
