Michael Douglas Davie aka Israel was born on June 20, 1964, in Detroit, Michigan to  Barbara Davie and the late Douglas Harvey.

 

He attended Northeastern High School in Detroit, Michigan where he received his High School Diploma in 1982. He joined the United States Army after high school in 1982, and after years of service, was honorably discharged.

He attended Wilberforce University, in Wilberforce, Ohio, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and Organizational Management 2018.

Michael confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Solomon Temple Church, Detroit, Michigan after his departure from the military.

Michael became a member of Shaker Heights Community Church in 2005.

He later accepted his call to service and was ordained as an Elder in his tenure

at Shaker Community and continued his service as an Elder at a ministry he helped to plant, The Body of Christ Assembly Heights (BOCAH).

Michael was a true servant of God; his heart would constantly seek for more ways to help others and minister to their need.

Michael worked various jobs over the years after his honorable discharge from the Army, but never gave up on his dream of entrepreneurship.

After many years of study and hard work in 2007 Michael started Alpha Legal Service, LLC a freelance paralegal firm, where he was not only able to assist law firms in Ohio but all over the country. Over the years he helped other family members and friends organize and establish their own businesses.

Michael was a part of various community organizations over the years, notable he spent most of his years volunteering with the Khnemu Foundation where he volunteered with groups such as Formerly Incarcerated Individuals Necessary Political Action Committee (FIINPAC) and Building Freedom Ohio (BFO).

Michael started playing the bass guitar at the young age of seven. He played and wrote music, favoring the “Phunk” until the time of his death. Michael also loved to make music, sing and dance.  He had a nickname for everyone he came across.

 

 

 

In high school Michael took an interest in tailoring where he would make clothing for himself and later obtained jobs working at various clothing stores in downtown Detroit.  Michael loved clothing and love to dress. He spent hours putting outfits together and customizing his clothes.

Michael married Erica Calhoun on October 21, 2007, and from this union two sons were born.

Michael loved his family. He cherished time spent with his loved ones and friends.

He always gave honor to the elders wherever he went and always spoke about giving his mother her flowers now.  He would often wear red or burgundy because he said it was his mom’s favorite colors.

 

On Monday, December 13, 2021, Michael entered eternal rest after short battle with Covid 19.

 

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Harvey, stepfather, James Christmas, grandmother, Elizabeth Davie, grandfather, William Davie.

and siblings, Latrina Davie, Renay Harvey, and a multitude of aunties, uncles, and cousins.

 

He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories, His loving wife Erica Davie,

Barbara Davie (mother), four (4) daughters Shantell Saliu (Habib) Austell, GA,

Channon Brooks (William III), Murfreesboro, TN, Latrice, Detroit, MI, Cearria Elder, Painsville, OH, three (3) sons Kendell Davie, Naza’ra Davie and Yisra’El Davie, of Shaker Hts., OH. Six (6) grandchildren, Zhyana Gray, Kamari Elder, Terrell Elder, Derrell Elder, William Brooks IV, Kareem Elder. Siblings: Karen Davie, Murfreesboro, TN, Angela Vaughn (Eric), Douglas Harvey, Dwayne Harvey, Garfield Harvey, Detroit, MI. and a host of family and close friends.
