Melvin Walker

Obituary

Melvin was born on December 3, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio to Deloach Walker Sr. and Maebelle O’Banner (Deaceased). He attended John F. Kennedy High School and married Meichell Mitchell. During that time he was affectionately know as “Sweet Mel”. Born from that union were Tyreco and Tameika “Shanee”, their only two children. Just a few years after they were born, Melvin pursued his love for golf and became a professional CADDY ON THE Senior PGA Tour. Over his 40 year career, he worked for many well-known golfers including the late Lee Elder- first black golfer to play in the Masters, J.C. Goosie, Dr. J, George Lpez, and Scottie Pippen Jr. Just to name a few. In addition to golf, he enjoyed football and Basketball.

Aside of sports, he enjoyed ballroom dancing with “Baby Baby” and studying religion. Melvin was most proud of his Walker/O’Banner bloodline, and his family lineage. He was good at maintaining relationships and supporting whoever, whenever he could. He loved being a father, grandfather and was always down for conversation. Even if you weren’t ready. Melvin is survived by his beloved “Baby Baby” Stella Walker (Significant other), Father Deloach Walker Sr., children Tyreco Walker, Tameika Nichols (Byron), Siblings Deloach WALKER Jr., Archer WALKER, Gregory Walker (Jeannette), Pam Goodwin, Stephanie Jones, Ealter Jones, Stacey Jones-Williams (Vinton) and Grandchildren Navier, Caleaia, KAYDEN, Tymir and Nevaeh.
