Mary Lee Beach

Mary Lee Beach, 91, of Knoxville, TN, died Sunday, August 29, 2021.

A native of Robbinsville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Henry Grady Lovin, Sr. and Fannie Jo Stewart Lovin.  Mary is also preceded in death by her husband, Clifford L. Beach, Sr., and two brothers, Henry Grady Lovin, Jr. and Jimmy Harold Lovin.

She was a graduate of Mars Hill College, Women’s College of North Carolina, and received her master’s degree from Appalachian State University.

Having been a resident of Hendersonville for over 50 years, Mary taught in the Hendersonville City Schools.  She was also a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church.

She was a lifelong teacher and learner.  Mary walked a mile every day and enjoyed gardening and canning fruits and vegetables with her mother and sister.

She is survived by a son, Clifford L. Beach, Jr. and his wife Poppy of Knoxville, TN; three granddaughters, Hannah Elliott Flowers and her husband George of Greenville, SC, Mary Catherine Beach of Denver, CO, and Elizabeth Grady Beach of Knoxville, TN; and a sister, Elsa Lavina West and her husband Sherman of Robbinsville, NC.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
