Mary Catherine “Cathy” Howland

Mary Catherine “Cathy” Howland, 68, of Springfield, formerly of Alexander, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022. She was born July 26, 1953, in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Robert L. and Mary Ann (Beaird) Haworth.
Survivors include her daughter, Victoria “Tori” Anne (Sherry) Howland Floyd of Springfield; son, Brian Ray (Bethany) Flynn of Petersburg; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Carla Melton of Springfield; brother, Tim Haworth of Atwater; former husband, Robbert P. Howland of Clarksville, MO; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gerald Francis Haworth, Robert L. Haworth, Jr. and William Wayne Haworth; and two sisters, Michele Credit and Margie Kennedy.
Cathy was a resident of Springfield since 1987 and was a homemaker for her family. She then worked at Regency Care and Oak Terrace as their Social Service Activity Director. For the past 15 years, Cathy worked for Villa Health Care West as their Activity Director.
Cathy was of the Christian faith and was proud of that. Her family was most important to her and spent as much time with them as she could. She never left the house without looking her best and she always had a smile on her face. She loved to play BINGO and POGO at any time of the day, besides when at work of course.
Memorial Gathering: 2 – 4 pm, Friday, July 1, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Memorial Service: 4 pm, Friday, July 1, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Paul Rose officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Animal Protective League, or Relay for Life – American Cancer Society.
