Marilyn Engstrom, nee Wittleder, age 84, of Chicago. Beloved wife of Philip Engstrom for 64 wonderful years. Devoted mother to Kathy Engstrom (Kevin Murphy), Kay Engstrom (John Weber), Sharon Engstrom (Steve Lauer), Josie Tolemy, and Keith (Rebecca) Engstrom. Cherished Grandma to Gregory (Brittany), Danielle, Brittany (William), Tessa (Steven), Erica (Kyle), Randy, Vincent, Sarah, and Charlie. Adored great-grandma to Camryn Rose. Dear daughter to the late Bernie and Louise Laufenberg. Dear sister and aunt of many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was a long time attendee of St. Timothy Parish in Chicago. She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest every day. She loved to travel and the Chicago Cubs. Marilyn was a Breast Cancer survivor and a proud member of “Sing to Live” Choir, as well at the Irish Heritage Singers. She was a fierce friend and a true pillar of the community. She will be deeply missed. A visitation will be held, Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave. Chicago IL from 3:00-8:00pm. A mass will be held Wednesday, July 6, at St. Mary of the Woods Parish, at 10:00am. Interment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines to follow. Our hearts go out to Phil in the loss of Marilyn. It is so sad to realize she is gone. You will be in our prayers, Phil. It was such a surprise because she posted things on Facebook very recently. I’ll pray for the whole family as they grieve.
