Marie Ellen Montgomery

Marie Ellen (Neill) Montgomery age 79 of Mansfield, Ohio, died Friday, December 17, after a brief illness. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, June 15, 1942, the only child of the late James and Martha (Johnston) Neill.

At age 21 she immigrated to the United States, where she married, and was welcomed with open arms into the large Montgomery family. Marie retired from the dietary department of what was then, Mansfield General Hospital. Stubborn, and a bit of a worrier, she prayed faithfully for her family in all circumstances, and took great comfort in reading the Psalms. Her family will miss her smiling Irish eyes.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Donna (Brian) Wilson, Alison (Bill) Baumberger, Andrea Montgomery, and Susan Olar. Also surviving are her eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

“May the road rise to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.”

No services will be held at this time. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
