Marguriete “Marti” Maccani, 78 of Cedar Rapids, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Grand Living at Indian Creek. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church by Rev. Gary Mayer. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home and on Wednesday at the church after 10 a.m.

Marti is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jim; 5 sons, Rick (Christina) Maccani, Brian (Lori) Hilzendager, Philip Maccani, Brent (April) Hilzendager, and Darrell (Angela) Hilzendager; 9 grandchildren; and sister Marian Imbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers-in-law, Lee (June) Maccani and Bob Imbus.

Marti was born on March 2, 1947, in Monticello, the daughter of Ellis and Josephine Puetz Sackett. She graduated from Cascade High School and worked at Rockwell Collins for 42 years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church where she volunteered many hours and taught Sunday school.

Marti enjoyed doing crosswords, puzzles, coffee, and traveling. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Football and Women’s Basketball fan. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
