Madie Pundt, age 86, passed into the hands of our Lord on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Highland Meadows Nursing Center in Rockwall Texas surrounded by family.  She was born on May 9, 1935 to the late Charlie and Myrtle Jackson and had eight siblings.  She married the love of her life, Freddie Pundt, on July 3, 1953 in Riesel, Texas and they were happily married for 66 years.

Madie had many interests volunteering as the Chairperson for March of Dimes, working as a Seamstress and Quality Control Inspector for Cassidy Manufacturing.  After moving to Granbury in 1972 she began her career in the banking industry.   Upon her retirement she became a regular volunteer for Meals on  Wheels and at First Baptist Church.  She was an active member for over 45 years, you could find her most Sunday mornings at the Welcome Desk greeting and welcoming both members and visitors with happiness and bantering.  Madie eventually became a full- time employee serving as Membership Secretary and Receptionist until retiring around 2012.

Madie was a wonderful cook and especially enjoyed baking, she especially enjoyed baking Freddie’s favorites. She was talented at flower arranging, often making bouquets for friends and family weddings.  She and Freddie enjoyed traveling and took many road trips to Branson, Missouri to experience the gospel and country music venues.  She loved spending time with grandkids, making it a priority to be at their special events.  She was a fun- loving, strong woman of faith who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Madie is preceded in death by her husband Freddie Pundt and 6 siblings. She is survived by Sherry Freeman and husband Michael Freeman of Bruceville Eddy, Rhonda Williamson and husband Darryl Williamson of Greenville, Michelle Wright and husband Russell Wright of Addison, four grandchildren Andrea Praesel and husband Justin, David Fitzpatrick and wife Susan, Ryan Paschal and Tara Paschal,  seven great-grandchildren:  Kelly and Kinley Praesel, Eve, Annabelle and Seraphina Fitzpatrick and twins Jaxon and Lexi Paschal, and  two siblings Mary Hughes and Martha Venable.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, February 11 at Wiley Funeral Home 400 E US Hwy 377, Granbury Texas 76048. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 12 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Granbury, 1851 Weatherford Hwy, Granbury, Texas 76048. Interment to follow at Holly Hills Memorial Park.
