Lyle E Denison, 67, of Millersburg, died on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, at Windmill Manor in Coralville.

Lyle Eugene Denison was born Oct. 18, 1956, at the Keokuk County Hospital to George (Bud) and Lucille Kelley Denison.

He grew up in the Green Valley area. He attended English Valleys Community Schools and graduated in 1974. He joined the Marines in 1975.

Lyle was a skilled carpenter and enjoyed his work. He was rightly proud of many of the projects he helped come into being.

He was very artistic. He taught himself to whittle as a child, and created some memorable pieces. Many times he would slip with the pocket knife and bloody his thumb, but it never stopped him from working on another piece.

Lyle loved music, especially Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, Lynard Skinner, BB King, Grand Funk and Norman Greenbori.

Lyle is survived by his son Arian; his sister Connie Costas, Lisbon; his twin sister Louise (Frank) Williams, North English; his brother Lynn (Callie) Denison, North English; brother-in-law Mike Blank, Seal Beach, Calif.; aunt Shirley Garringer, Williamsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Kathy Denison and Karen Blank; and his brother David Denison.

A Graveside Service will be held at a later date, in the North English Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Lyle has requested that memorial donations be made to The American Cancer Society in honor of him and his family members that were affected by cancer.
