Laura T. Sampson

Laura T. Sampson, 57 of Chatham, passed away at 3:11 pm, Monday, October 24, 2022 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born in Harvey, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Bonnie (Oleshko) Strassenberg. She married James Sampson on October 6, 2007 and he survives.

Also surviving are one son, Justin Misialek of Chatham; her mother, Bonnie Strassenberg of Wheaton; one sister, Lisa (Dan) Rappaport of Riverton; one brother, Dan Strassenberg of Spokane, WA; two nephews, Nathan Rappaport of Riverton and Peyton Strassenberg of Spokane, WA; six aunts and uncles and several cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Strassenberg.

Laura graduated from Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, IL. She has been a resident of Chatham since 2015 and previously had resided in Aurora, Romeoville, and Lombard.

She enjoyed cooking, reading John Grism novels, and swimming. She was a huge supporter of the Chatham Chargers basketball team and rescuing dogs from the local shelters.

Per Laura’s wishes cremation rites were accorded by Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
