Kenneth Harold Packingham, 89, of Central City, peacefully passed away on Dec. 23, 2022, at Cape Coral Hospital. He was born April 2, 1933, to Harold and Gladys (Johnson) Packingham.

Kenneth graduated from Franklin in 1951. While in high school he boxed for a Cedar Rapids boxing club. He won Golden Gloves Champion two years in a row. Out of high school he joined the U.S. Navy. He boxed and ran a charter boat for Navy sailors on leave. He left the Navy in 1955 to be home with his family. In 1959 he opened a machine shop which he retired from in 2000. His sons took over and it is still a successful, family-run business in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed yearly fishing trips to Canada. After retiring, he enjoyed spending his winters in Florida.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Patricia Packingham; his children, Kurt (Courtney) Packingham, Trent (Dawn) Packingham; his grandchildren, Stephanie (Luke) Burgess, Kohl Packingham, Angela (Chad) French, Dane Packingham, Pamela (Benjamin) Keel, Garet Packingham, Toni (Mitchell) Thompson; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and great-grandson.

Per Kenneth’s wishes there will not be a funeral service.
