Jessica Diaz

Jessica Diaz, age 35, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.  The daughter of Jose Diaz and Engracia Mejia of Flat Rock, North Carolina, she was born in Honduras on November 21, 1985.

An amazing and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Jessica always enjoyed going to the park, a lake or to the beach.  Jessica loved going on vacation with her family, but she truly loved taking care of her children.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 16 years, Joel Cruz; four children, Keller (14), Kathy (11), Alexander (6) and Emanuel (4); one brother, Juan Jose Chicas Mejia (47); and one sister, Mari Diaz (41).

A celebration of Jessica’s life will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Iglesia Bautista Agua Viva Church in Hendersonville with Pastor Marco A. Hernandez officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the church.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Oakdale Cemetery in Hendersonville.
