James Don Churchwell

James Don Churchwell

James “Don” Churchwell was born on August 8th, 1941 in Honey Grove, Texas.  He grew up in Fort Worth where he formed some lifelong friendships.  It was also there that Don met and married Ann Woodard, his wife of 56 years.  Don worked for American Airlines for over 33 years at Love Field and DFW until his retirement.

Don enjoyed ranch life and was a true outdoorsman.  He loved his ranch in Files Valley and farm in Rainbow.  He also enjoyed BBQ, fish frys and watching wildlife.  Don loved being at the lake fishing, kayaking and water skiing.  In his earlier years, it was rumored he was the pool player to beat.  Don was a faithful Dallas Cowboys fan and always had a big bowl of popcorn ready for the game.

Don is predeceased by his parents Cecil and Winnie Churchwell and by his sister, Judy Soto.

Don is survived by his wife Ann; his daughters, Courtney and Holly and by his son-in-law, Chad Conner.

There will be a memorial gathering at 1pm, March 4th at Wiley Funeral Home, 504 Holden Street, in Glen Rose followed by a graveside service at Squaw Creek Cemetery at 2pm.  The family requests that everyone wishing to attend please dress in jeans and casual wear.
