Harold Marvin Kimble

Harold Marvin Kimble, 92, of Dover, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021 in Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia.

Born June 8, 1929 in Dover, he was the son of the late Daniel and Wilma (Waybel) Kimble and a Korean War Veteran. In September 1947, he enlisted in the United States Army and at the end of his third year, on the date that he was to be discharged, he was sent to Korea. While in Korea, he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant while serving with the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat team and was awarded four Bronze Stars. After his honorable discharge, he then Owned and Operated Total Rental at Cambridge for over 35 years. Harold was a Kiwanian, a lifetime member of the Cambridge VFW and a member of both the First Christian Church and First Baptist Church at Cambridge.

Harold is survived by two sons, Dirk (Sherry) Kimble and James (Sarah) Kimble; his daughter, Jennifer (Shawn) Paden; his high school sweetheart, Harriet Kuhn, 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and his sister-in-law, Doris Kimble.

In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Arter) Kimble, two sons, Steven Lee Kimble and Rodrick Lynn Kimble; two brothers, Donald Kimble and Floyd Kimble; two sisters, Norma White and Shirley Dunn and his half-siblings, Jack Kimble and Dorothy Eddinger.

In keeping with his wish’s Harold is to be cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 2 PM in the First Christian Church at Cambridge with Rev. Seth Stout officiating. A private family burial will take place in Antrim United Methodist Community Cemetery at Antrim.

The family requests that to honor Harold, memorial contributions be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
