On Monday, February 6, 2023, George Lindsey Gaston, fondling known as Dad and PopPop, walked through Heaven’s Pearly Gates and into God’s arms, he was 85 years old. George now awaits his Heavenly reunion with his loved ones that remain. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Marcia Gaston of Granbury, TX. George was blessed to precede his children, Steve and Darlene Gaston of Granbury, TX; Julia Maxfield of Altus, OK; Daina and Eddie Hayworth of Coolidge, TX; and Angela Gaston of Granbury, TX. Further enriching his legacy, George was blessed to have 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; Meredith and DJ Horning of Granbury, TX with their daughters Olivia and Caroline; Laura and Ryan McCormack of Potusi, MO with their children Sierra, Magnum, and McKenzie; Cheryl and Jason Davlin of Altus, OK with their children Kaila and Chase; JR and Kristina Maxfield of Lake Saint Louis, MO with their children Eliza and Maverick; Brent and Amber Hayworth of Glen Rose, TX with their daughter Luna; Kyle Hayworth of Coolidge, TX; and Ashlyn Hayworth of Haltom City, TX. He is preceded in death by His father, Stephen Lloyd Gaston; Mother, WillieMae Gaston; and Siblings, Joan, Jackie, Loretta, and LeRoy; and, his Son-In-Law, Ricky Maxfield.

George Lindsey Gaston was born in Denton County, TX on September 5, 1937. He was a hard and diligent worker who traveled almost every Texas highway during his distinguished career in long-haul truck driving. He loved seeing the State of Texas. He avidly kept up with his beloved Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. But really, he loved all baseball and football. George intrinsically knew the value and power of commitment. He worked hard for his family until his body would no longer allow him.

He married Marcia Ann McClanahan in 1954, they shared 68 years of remarkable victories and struggles. Marcia’s last words to her beloved husband were, “Oh, my sweet George, I love you so much”.
