Frances Elizabeth “Beth” Wilson

Frances Elizabeth “Beth” Wilson, 96, of Hendersonville, NC passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Carolina Village Care Center.  Born in Louisa County, VA to the late Robert Milton and Susan Jaynes Prestwood, Beth was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Wilson.

Beth went to nursing school and worked as a nurse.  She was a member of Moore’s Gove UMC.  She was a passionate volunteer for the Literacy Council and the Opportunity House Sewing Group.  Beth also called Bingo every Saturday in several nursing homes throughout Hendersonville.

She was a kind, giving, loving woman with a lot of spunk.  Her greatest pride was to be known as “Mema” to her grandboys and their friends and being famous for her deviled eggs.  We will miss her sweet smile and the mischievous sparkle in her eyes.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jan Shefter (Glenn) of Lake Summit, NC and Allan Wilson (Carlene) of Orange, VA; grandchildren, Andrew Shefter (Brittany) and Stuart Shefter (Shelby Epps); great-grandchildren, Zoë Elizabeth Shefter and Emery Scout Shefter; sister, Rebecca P. Lucas of Charlotte, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Beth’s memory can be made to the Carolina Village Endowment Fund, 600 Carolina Village Rd., Hendersonville, NC  28792 or to Four Seasons Hospice Care, 211 N. Main St., Hendersonville, NC  28792. 

A private service will be held at a later date.
