Ellen L. Kalips Ingersoll

Ellen was born August 16, 1924, in Taylorville, Illinois to William Daniel and Verna Steele Kalips. She married Charles Ingersoll on April 24, 1948.
She is survived by their three children and their spouses; William and Donna Ingersoll, Mary and James Johnson, Barbara Ingersoll, 10 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
Her husband, Charles, died with polio on October 20, 1952. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marjorie Raley.
Ellen graduated from Lanphier High School, received a BS in Ed at Illinois State Normal University, and MS of Ed at the University of Illinois in Champaign. She taught Home Economics in San Jose, IL for 2 years and at Lanphier High School for 28 years, retiring in 1981.
She was an active member of Buffalo Hart Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder, delegate to Presbytery, and a Sunday school teacher. Ellen was a member of PEO, Chapter ES, Church Women United, and Home Economists of Sangamon County. After retirement she loved visiting friends and family and thoroughly enjoyed all of her grandchildren. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, and crocheting.
There will be a memorial service at Buffalo Hart Presbyterian Church led by the Reverend Mary Jessup on Monday, August 2, 2021 @ 11:00am.
