Duane A. Boettcher, 71, of Mechanicsville, passed away in his home in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Funeral services will be held at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence on Saturday, March 4, at 2 p.m., with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. The family requests casual attire. The Rev. Byron Miller will be officiating.
Duane was born Sept. 20, 1951, in Clinton, Iowa, to Donald and Lois Saunders Boettcher. He married Robin Seeley on Jan. 10, 2015.
Survivors include his wife, Robin; son, Toby (Dawn) of Clinton; stepsons, Gavin and Tyler Vorwald; grandchildren, Caleb (C.J.) and Gabrielle (Gabbi); brother, Devon of Lowden; sisters, Donna Shannon of Baldwin, Ill., Deanna (Byron) Miller of Clarence and Debra (Greg) Bentrott of Lowden; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Douglas and David.
Duane drove truck for over 50 years accumulating over 5 million miles. He enjoyed the Seattle Seahawks, NASCAR, the Chicago Cubs “dirtheads” and camping, which included Robin’s campfire meatloaf. He was a loving and kindhearted man who had a hug for everybody. Duane also enjoyed his annual trip to Lynchburg, Tenn., to visit the barrel tree.
