Deborah Ann Ponds-Henley

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah Ponds-Henley, who peacefully passed away on May 4th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Deborah was born on April 1, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio, to her late parent, Cleo Ponds. She had 2 children, Chrishona Wright and Devon Henley. She was a devoted sister to Vivian Ponds and the late Lee Andrew Ponds, and a loving grandmother to Franklin Wright and Andrew Henley-Flowers. Deborah was married to Charles Henley Jr. and has two sister-in-law’s, Irene Henley and Barbara Henley. Her parents in-law are Charles Sr. and Rose Bud Henley. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
Deborah was a talented artist with a passion for creativity. She had a natural talent for creating beautiful things and was known for her intricate flower arrangements that brought joy to everyone who saw them. Her home was always decorated with an array of colors and designs to celebrate every season and holiday, and her attention to detail was always impeccable.
Deborah’s love for creativity also extended to her professional life, where she worked at Higbees as a Visual Merchandiser. Her creativity and attention to detail were evident in every display she created, drawing customers in and making the store come alive.
Deborah was a deeply family-oriented person who loved nothing more than spending time with her loved ones. She treasured her two grandchildren, Franklin and Andrew, and was always there to support and encourage them in every aspect of their lives.
Deborah will always be remembered for her kind, loving nature and her beautiful, creative spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love and creativity that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Deborah’s family and friends are heartbroken at her passing but find comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her parents and her brother in the arms of the Lord. Rest in peace, Deborah Ponds-Henley, you will be deeply missed.
