Clyde Manley Jr., 82, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday morning, February 17, 2021, at Oak Point Nursing Home in Baltic, Ohio.
He was born August 7, 1938, in Shreve, Ohio, to the late Clyde and Dorothy (Smith) Manley Sr. Clyde retired from Preston Trucking and owned a Sohio gas station in the early 1960s. An adventurous man, he enjoyed flying and obtained his pilot’s license. He loved fishing, especially traveling to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He enjoyed trying his luck playing Keno as often as he could. Most of all, Clyde relished his family time, especially when it included his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Clyde is survived by a daughter, Robin Manley; daughter-in-law, Lisa Manley; five grandchildren, Jason (Amber) Manley, Joe Manley, Christopher Manley, Jarrod Manley and Joshua Manley; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard “Butch” Manley; a sister, Donna Webber; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Manley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Hess Manley; son, William Manley; daughter-in-law, Shelly Manley; brother, Ronald Eugene Manley; and mother of his children, Carol Manley.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
