Brian E. Eck

Brian E. Eck, 57, of Springfield, formerly of Chatham, died at 9:36 pm, Friday, April 28, 2023 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. He was born August 10, 1965 in Springfield, the son of Eldon and Carole (Crouch) Eck. He married Jane Buttell on November 11, 2011.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; daughter, Jessica (Lucas) Hachmeister of Wichita, KS; Joseph Eck of Denver, CO; stepson, Gage Loeffelholz of Springfield, MO; three grandchildren, Tucker, Olivia and Beckett; mother, Carole Ball of Springfield; brother, Michael (Kim) Eck of Springfield; two sisters, Tamara (John) Dozier of Springfield and Brenda (Dave) Sharpe of Rochester and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Brian was of the Catholic faith. He graduated from Griffin High School in 1983. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Brian loved sports and music, especially listening to the Grateful Dead. He was a computer programmer at the State of Illinois Healthcare and Family Services.
