Billy James Strozier Sr. was born January 2, 19339,in Alexander city, Alabama, to the late Albert and Mattie Lou Strozier. He was the youngest of 8 children. Bill was educated in Alexander City Public Schools. Then he later moved to Detroit, Michigan with an older sister, to later relocate to Cleveland, Ohio where he met Gwendolyn Lee Smith. They were united in matrimony on December 15, 1964, and they shared 58 years together. To this union they were blessed with three children; Angela Strozier, Billy J. Strozier Jr., and the late Arvell Strozier.

 

Billy found Christ early in life in Alabama, and continued his Christian journey with Good Shepard Baptist Church. Billy employed with Norfolk and Western Railroad and Retired after thirty years.

Billy Enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, working on motors, being among family, and riding with his brothers of the Third Wheel. He was known as “Wild Bill”.

This past December Billy’s health took an unexpected turn. He remained Positive and in good spirits. He peacefully transitioned from this life on January 6th, 2023, at University Hospital with his family by his side.

The life of Billy James Strozier Sr. leaves to cherish his memory through his Loving Wife Gwendolyn Strozier, his two remaining children; Angela Strozier, and Billy James Strozier Jr. (Pam), sister Nellie Smith, 10 grandchildren; Angelo, Arie, Billy III, Ericka, Sean, Kennedy, Cameron, Hayden, and Santana, Two great-grandchildren; Aarion, and Emauri, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends that loved him.
