Arthur W. Murray II
The family of Arthur W. Murray II, 86, sadly announces his passing on September 19, 2021. Art was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and family member. He lived a long and blessed life. A native of Hoopeston, IL and graduate of the University of Illinois, he was an Illini through and through. Employed by Continental Bank out of college, he enjoyed a wonderful 45 year career. Married to his sweetheart Jocelyn, nee Currie, for 59 years, his family was the world to him. Father to Art (Betty), Anne (Bryan) Hansen, and Andrew. Proud grandfather to Madison, Griffin, Alexis and Jack. His joys were his family, Scottish heritage, swing jazz, nostalgia, Lake Geneva, traveling, and learning and sharing knowledge with others. A true gentleman who enjoyed connecting with all, and we are so blessed to have him in our hearts. A memorial visitation will be held at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E Northwest Highway, Palatine IL 60067, on Friday September 24 from 4-8pm with a memorial service at 6 pm. Burial service in Hoopeston, IL at Floral Hill Cemetery at 1 pm on Saturday, September 25.
