Arthur “Barney” Kelley

Arthur “Barney” Kelley, 89, of Sherman, formerly of Riverton, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. He was born on August 28, 1932 to Arthur A. and Gladys Ring Kelley. He married Delores Ann McMasters on May 12, 1950 and she preceded him in death on November 13, 2001.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Arthur J. Kelley and daughter, Donna Marie Kelley-Davis.
He is survived by three children, Dan (Tammy) Kelley, Jay (Sandy) Kelley and Julie (John) Nunes; two daughters-in-law, Brenda Kelley and Tara Davis; one brother, Jim (Judy) Kelley; three sisters, Ruth Ann McCormick, Glenda (Steve) Allison and Bonnie Lindsay; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Barney was a Korean War Army Veteran. He was a 70-year member of Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ International Association, Local #18 since 1952. He was a former Boy Scout Leader of Riverton Troop #46 and a member of Elm Street Christian Church. Barney enjoyed horseback riding, camping, fishing, bowling, bingo, and playing cards.
Graveside Service: 10 am, Friday, July 8, 2022 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Elder Mike Cox and Pastor Justin Everson officiating. Military honors will be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Land of Lincoln Honor Flight, 57 Country Place, Springfield, IL 62703.
