Antonina F. Crifasi

Antonina F. Crifasi, 81, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at her home, with her son by her side. She was born on June 23, 1940, in Montevago, Sicily, the daughter of Joseph and Maria (Ferraro) Crifasi.

Survivors include her son, Tony Panton (girlfriend, Stacy Chandler) of Springfield and many uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph in 1962; mother, Maria in 1990; and former husband, Milton Panton in 2007.

Antonina was a resident of Springfield since 1958. She went to high school in Montevago, Sicily. Antonina earned her associates degree from Brown’s Business College. She belonged to St. Joseph and St. Aloysius Catholic Churches.

Antonina started working at St. John’s Hospital, making clothing for the nuns and newborn babies from 1958-1961. From 1961–1979, she was the alterations manager at SA Barker and from 1979–2000 she was a clerical worker for the State of Illinois Department of Revenue.

Antonina was an avid shopper at all the local supermarkets. She enjoyed Christmas so much and collected all sorts of Christmas décor, especially Mr. and Mrs. Claus dolls.

Graveside Service: 12:30 pm, Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Calvary Cemetery with Reverend Kevin Mann officiating.
